Footbridge Beach

Footbridge Beach offers a wide variety of stunning backdrops that are perfect for any session. This location includes 2 two bridges, one over the beautiful Ogunquit River. The other leads you over the sand dunes reavealing the Atlantic Ocean as you inch closer to the top. There’a also a path along the river that provides opportunities for more greenery!

Whether you’re a senior, newly engaged, or an extended family on vacation, Footbridge Beach is a great option! It’s also right down the street from Beach Plum Farm so they could be paired together for a perfect combination of ocean and greenery.

Parking: Paid parking available, usually less crowded during golden/sunset hours

Accessibility: Moderate. Second bridge has a relatively steep incline/decline and leads to soft sand on the ocean side of the beach

Beach Plum Farm

Beach Plum Farm is a stunning nature preserve and community garden right off of Rte 1 in Ogunquit. Open from dusk to dawn, the 1/2 mile loop trail brings you down towards the Ogunquit River and offers views of the sand dunes and Atlantic Ocean.

If you love the water but don’t want the classic beach session, this might be the perfect option for you!

Parking: Limited parking available on site but I’ve never run into an issue

Accessibility: Easy/Moderate. Grassy and dirt trail, mostly flat

Perkins Cove

Perkins Cove, originally a fishing village and artists colony, is now a tourist major destination that offers a mix of rocky cliffs, harbor boats, and coastal boutique shops. Another perk of this location is that it is one of the main entrances/exits of the Marginal Way Cliff Walk.

Perkins Cove is the perfect location if you are looking for diversity in your gallery while still getting that coastal Maine feel. I’d also highly recommend stopping at the famous Barnical Billy’s for a lobster roll and a rum punch after your session!

Parking: Paid parking lots available, parking can be difficult during peak hours

Accessibility: Easy/Moderate. Paved roads with a drawbridge and lower docks that require stairs

Marginal Way Cliff Walk

The Marginal Way is a 1.5 mile walk along the scenic cliffs of Ogunquit, Maine. Starting on Shore Rd in downtown Ogunquit and ending in Perkins Cove, the Marginal Way offers hidden beaches, rocky cliffs, and even a lighthouse while you stroll along the paved path.

There’s no shortage of beautiful photo opportunities with endless views of the Atlantic Ocean. Depending on the time, you may be able to explore cliffs and the tidal pools left behind from high tide.

Parking: Paid parking lots at each end of the walking path

Accessibility: Easy/Moderate. Paved walkway with a few small but decently steep hills

Main Beach, Ogunquit

Main Beach in Ogunquit is the most popular beach spot in town. With nearly 360 degree views of the water, this sandy beach makes the perfect backdrop for a classic coastal photoshoot.

In addition to the sandy landscape, Main Beach offers a rocky wall along the river mouth that allows for diversity within your final gallery.

Parking: Large paid parking lot. Very busy during peak season beach hours

Accessibility: Easy/ Moderate. Paved parking lot has a paved ramp that leads to a soft sand beach
