3 Things to do if Your Clients are Stuck in Traffic

If you’re anything like me, you plan to be early but somehow always show up late. I don’t make the rules, that’s just how it happens. So, what do you do when your client is someone like me? Or not like me but gets stuck in shitty Boston traffic anyway? Here’s what I did.

1. walk around and scope out the location/ set up

This is also a good idea for anyone who isn’t like me and shows up early on purpose. I’ll usually take a walk around and try to find at least 3 different locations that I want to use for the photos. This helps save time during the actual shoot so you’re not wasting any time with the client(s). Once I’ve found a few good locations I will look for a quiet area to set up camp. AKA hang out on a blanket while I wait for the client(s) to arrive.

2. look up pose inspiration on Pinterest

Once I’ve set up camp, I’ll sit on Pinterest or Instagram and scroll through some inspiration photos for poses or detail shots that Im hoping to get. I’ll screenshot those so they’re first in my camera roll if I ever need to reference them throughout the shoot.

3. research nearby restaurants/ cafes to suggest

My final tip is one that is essential for me. I am ALWAYS hungry after a shoot so I think its really important to have suggestions for your client to try out if they’re hungry as well. I also keep snacks in my car/ camera bag because ya girl likes to snack and I know others do too.
